 A Perception Named Fido

If I’d put my perception, Fido, on a leash and take him to AKC (American Kennel Club), to be registered, I’m afraid they would say, “Fido hasn’t grown into the right proportions to qualify, look at him, he’s two shadows wide and only 1\2 a shadow deep, what have you been feeding him? How have you been exercising him?”
“Feeding, exercise? Wait a minute, he’s only my perception of all things, I didn’t realize one had to feed and exercise --- maybe my perception is just lonely. I might have to go look for a partner, maybe he just needs to stand idol and have a chance to do nothing but to air out once in a while, like a second pair of shoes.”
I think I need some advise here. What should I feed Fido? What kind of an exercise program would help Fido grow into proper proportions to qualify for a higher level of existence?”

 A Face With Many Voices

Mornings usually catch me starting the new day in my “everyday voice.”
Then, to check if I beat any family member up that morning -
I quickly reset, and use my “from another room voice.” I pronounce myself alive and that I’m ready for another day, “Good morning, anybody there?”
Whoops! Is that a challenging question, I don’t really know, but I don‘t think so.
I try to remember not to use my “from another room voice” in a face to face happenstance, however, I won‘t make any promises about not using my “challenging voice” in that same face to face.
“Hello,“ my “ telephone voice” has automatically been activated by that uncontrolled ringing in my ears.
Only when frogs have moved into the hollow, do I use "my scratchy voice." Then immediately, I (GGGGGGHHHHHHHMMMMMM) try to clear the hollow.
I save my “stage voice” for when I meet the elite, and for when I’m standing behind a mic, thinking that I’m entertaining a crowd.
I quit using my “dog & baby talk voice.” It was so high pitched, it sailed right over their heads.
My “outside or farm voice” will come in so handy, if I ever have a message for a tractor driver, or if I want to stand outside and holler until the cows come home.
Only for very important messages, with a lot of meat inem, do I use my “whispering voice.” That’s when I really want to capture my listener’s attention.
My most powerfully penetrating voice is my “Shut thy mouth voice.” and then let my eyes deliver the message!
My “angry voice” has only made me look foolish, so I try to keep it packed.
My “singing voice” has tried to unlock the interchange with the hearing aids so often, it’s lost the key to what the music’s in.
And to be truthfully honest, when I use my “hand over the mouth voice,” it’s often too late to keep my foot out.
My “apologetic voice” soon bounces to the surface, believing that it‘s the only voice capable of squeaking past that misplaced foot..
By now, I’m not sure I have a leg left to stand on, besides, it’s your turn to give “voice” to opinions.

 What Shall I Wear Today?

What Shall I Wear Today?
Dear Lord, please hear what I say.

Please give me these things,
Instead of bracelets and rings.

A smile to share
A heart to care

Sensitive receivers
Flexible believers

A spill of curiosity
Energized simplicity

Intelligent observation
Respect for your creation

Anticipation with a smile
Understanding that’ll last a while

A step that stops or lingers
To follow pointed fingers

Hope in my thinker
And patience in a sprinkler

Blue ribbon choice of words
And silence for the birds

This would be a good wardrobe for me today.
And for all peoples around the globe I’d say

 What Are They?

Someone can throw you one
They can be pitched
You can drive on them if you drive slowly
They strengthen glass
They sometimes come with directions
On mirrors, they make images look funky
They’re always present while learning new tasks
What Are They?

 Blue Jean’s Afterlife.

The blue in my jeans looks washed out and gray.
But we really don’t know, were they sewed up this way?
Does one follow today’s fashions or succumb to the patches,
When faded new jeans are frazzled in batches?

I still get ninety per cent coverage from my waist to my toes,
‘Bout ten percent, where the legs bend, is all that’s exposed.
When the sun visits the knees, they’re often caught kissin’,
Right where the fiber in the denim is missin’

Yep, my jeans are a tad frizzled but soft, that broke in feel,
Just the way they sell ‘em at Frank’s mercantile.
So, I think I’ll keep wearing them day after day,
And you can keep thinking they were sewed up this way!
