Old Tradition Glue Just Won’t stick!

It’s time once again to appease the age old tradition of committing oneself to abide by a brand new, fresh out of the box, New Years Resolution. I can’t remember a resolution I’ve ever made that stuck with me a whole year. Perhaps for me, it would be better to concoct several mini resolutions, each with a shorter shelf life expectancy. Maybe one for each month in the year 2008. I would shake them out of a box that reads, “Variety pack, contains up to twelve servings.” There could be a hint of surprise and excitement involved while shaking that box month after month to see what comes out of it‘s spout.. I might shake out January‘s resolution in July, or maybe two resolutions would fall out of the spout in a single shake and I‘d have a free month sometime during the year!. Another plus to this plan would be that not all twelve resolutions would have to hit my desk before the thudly impact that stops that great big ball from falling into everlasting tonight.
I'll start my variety pack with a single resolution to do it!
Meanwhile, I'll keep coaxing my treadmill powered scooter uphill!

 In Add A Quit?

Is the accumulation I have now inadaquit?
Before I make another purchase, I should review what I would be bringing IN.
Is it really necessary to ADD it?
What would make it be A valuable addition?
At some point, IN ADD A has got to QUIT!

Meanwhile, I'll keep coaxing my treadmill powered scooter uphill!

 Stretching Things Back Into Proportion!

How enchantingly boring!
Stretching things back into proportion expels old memories!
Example:
“Four and twenty blackbirds flying high up in the sky!”
“caused the cow to jump over the spoon!”
“And the small dog barked
Through half of the night
At the dish in the light of the moon.”
“It would be easier for a camel to walk through to eye the needle!”
“With enough faith you could have climbed a mountain
But first take the splinter out of your eye!”
Don’t you think it might just be better to leave things out of proportion?
You tell me!
Meanwhile, I’ll keep coaxing my treadmill powered scooter uphill!

 To Improve Or Not?

What am I going to do different to celebrate Christmas next year? What would I like to do exactly the same?
What if one would start a list and clip it to the very first page in the 2008 planning calander? This list, along with any added sticky notes, would continuously be moved ahead at the turn of the scenery. Serious participation would give new life to yesterday's memories monthly, while perhaps kick starting the incubation process for a fresh batch-hatch of clever ideas to add to your celebration next year! Wouldn't it be interesting to follow this process and see what happens?
This might not be a new idea. This idea quiet possibly originated in my great, great, great, great grandmothers kitchen. The folks in her era probably traded and traded and traded, bad parts of their celebrations for fresh new parts until they had the exact ingredients for what they wanted. They must have become so infatuated with certain aspects of their celebration that they refused to let them go. I suppose they were extremely sure that they had always traded up so, they refused to celebrate any other way. If this is true and allowing evidence to rule, I think, with all the trading they did, they must have eventually reffered to this perfect celebration as being their TRADITIONAL Christnas celebration and became stubborn to accept variations!

 Mary’s Secret!

“I’ve got a secret and it’s driving me wild,
Jesus the Christ is to be my child!
Oh, what do you think Joseph will do?
If Joseph only knew.”

“I think I’ll shout, shout into a cloud,
And let it bounce back thundering loud!
Then, then sure as the skies are blue,
Joseph will have to believe that it’s true.”

“Wouldn’t it be profoundly clever
If I could keep this secret forever and ever?
Oh, I know that won’t work, so what shall I do?
Oh, if Joseph only knew.”

Then, this baby boy’s lowly birth
Was the biggest event on all the earth!
And Joseph’s love just grew and grew
Because by now, he knew it was true!

So, as sure as we know that the skies are blue
We know that this Jesus belongs to us too!
Mary’s secret is out.
It’s our turn to shout!
