Private Time Reflections

 Alotto Tudo

Have you noticed Alotto Tudo about, trying to raise the bar, these days. Not long ago, the thrust was toward getting Around Tuit to doit. But, low and behold, he has lost his popularity. It’s really no surprise, one could hear his bark fade and, not without the weather wart’s warning, you could see it begin to die away many winds ago. But wait up, my observation confirms that a next door intruder has crossed the boundary and is now on the seen. It looks like Around Tuit’s neighbor in law, Alotto Tudo is now seated at the head of Tuit’s table, eating all the drum roll by himself. His big square shoulders are set to challenge Around Tuit for first chair in this racy dance in the neighborhood. Anyhow, you can see Alotto Tudo about, trying to raise the bar without getting Around Tuit first.
Well, if we’re a folk who are willing to take it on the chin and Alotto Tudo would suddenly find the strength to raise the bar without getting Around Tuit, it could surprise us, catch us under the chin and knock us off our feet!

 December’s Kiss

Let’s mark the face of December with a warm and healthy kiss
Let’s crown the past “didn’t was’s,” with a “Not to be missed”
Let’s root new routes through untamed soils
Let’s harvest the good and recycle the spoils
Let’s meet all people through warm, loving eyes
Let’s smile in return to their look of surprise
Let’s count all our blessings as we put them away
Let’s continue this task day after day
Let’s not come to a halt for an occasion like this
Let’s just, on our way through, give December a kiss

 RolMor, The Group Dice Game

Rules by Grandpa John
“Rolmor” can be played with a mix of either one or two player teams.
To start, each player rolls a dice, the highest roll goes first and continuing clockwise.
The scoring of the dice is as follows.
Each “One” equals 100 pnts, A small straight = 200 points, a large straight = 300 points, a ”Five” equals 50 points, unless three fives are thrown. Any three dice with the same number will equal the number on one dice times 100.
(Three fives equal 500.)
Four numbers alike equals one dice times 200.
All five alike equals one dice times 300.
After the first roll, the team chooses to keep the score showing or to call out “Rolmor” for the privilege of rolling the remaining, non scoring dice. The “Rolmor” roll must add to the score or all points for that turn are cancelled.
Dice Reserved – it is permissible reserve dice and/or to substitute dice from the first roll to try to build onto with the dice in the “Rolmor” roll, for an example, you might reserve four to a straight or two sixes.
Bad Choice, Good Choice – When the choice to keep the score from the first roll is made, the second roll is not a “Rolmor.” It only determines what would have been.
Your score card must show good choice or a bad choice plus the score every round. The first team to score 5000 and has made more good choices than bad choices is the winner.
Bonus option - If all five dice are pointers on the first roll of any round, the “Rolmor” (Optional) roll will include all five dice again but, there must be a counter on the “Rolmor” roll or all scoring for that round is cancelled.
Each score card has three columns, Accumulated score - Good Choice - Bad Choice.

 High Light of The Dark

Living in the country, we have a yard light pole with a yard light mounted about twenty feet up. Not every ladder is willing to extend twenty feet comfortably and on the few that are willing, not every climber willingly climbs up those twenty feet comfortably.
Approximately two months ago our yard light no longer responded to the switch. Now what? I would like to replace the burned out bulb with a 300 wattter. Those 300’s aren’t just lying loose on every shelf either. I finally found replacement bulbs online (had to order three to meet minimum order requirements.)
Our son has agreed to bring his long extension ladder this Thursday (to be used as an extension of our Thanksgiving celebration.) And because of recent double knee replacement, his dear wife has appointed herself to shinny up the ladder and do the high honors for us.
The three 300 watt bulbs came Tuesday UPS. Yea, just in time!.
Monday, I accidently hit the yard light switch and the light came on. Yea, just in time but, just a bit late too!
The yard light still works today so, there is no longer a need for the long extension ladder to extend our Thanksgiving celebration tomorrow. Yea, at least for now!
Our brave daughter in law will be doing us high honors with her presence, (ground rules.) Yea, back to normal!
So, for the last two months, our yard light bulb, got it’s kick from the trick of keeping the elements in the dark. Well, we’re happy to report, it once again is distributing it’s light by the yard, it pulled a dark one over on us.

 Kitchen Monster vs Kitchen Master

The Kitchen Master works on blending tastes while The Kitchen Monster doesn’t know how and really doesn’t care! The Kitchen Monster is liable to mix up ingredients sideways and pop them in from the wrong end.
Into a ground burger, baked potato bar dish, I intentionally added ingredients that I thought would stand up against each other and argue their importance. I selected two of my almost favorite flavorites as being those sparring opponents. Shortly after I stirred them into the burger mix, they did indeed flaunt their individual flavors, which I knew would be in contrast. To my surprise, this delightfully flavored argument slowly aroused the Master from within the Monster and quickly but, quietly, tossed a smidgen of this phenomenon onto his buds.” Exquisitely Delicious!”
I’m planning to send this delightfully flavored mix to a restaurant for them to consider as being one of their “guarded secret recipe” menu items.
