Private Time Reflections

“What makes a Christian any different from anybody else?”

An active Christian is continuously aware of human needs in his arena. This automatically fills his prayerways with communication signals asking for powerfully charged bursts of support to be delivered directly towards targeted recipients. To unfamiliar observers these energy pockets are uniquely visible and the Christian’s concern and commitment to serve is specifically enviable.
Unfamiliar observers recognize an air of confidence and peacefulness in a Christian’s behavior while the Christian’s prayer basket might be bulging with the process of problem solving or decision making. Also boldly noticeable is the peaceful countenance exhibited by Christians in a vast number of other disciplines. Their privately charged energy source comes from the fruits of the Holy Spirit maturing in a fertile, receptive heart. However, I’ll be quick to mention the Christian’s vulnerability for stepping into a maze of fresh confusion. It can become extremely difficult for a Christian, when emptying the prayer basket, to differentiate between the responding voice of the Holy Spirit and the impatient nudging of the subconscious. It is therefore extremely important for Christians to network with other Christians, sharing their experiences in their walk with the Holy Spirit involving decision making and problem solving. After these sessions, the wise will hold their own data under the light of those conclusions to candle their thoughts for acceptable results. My personal philosophy on problem solving is that the process of defining the solution is incomplete until a minimum of at least three potential solutions have been uncovered. Creativity lies idol and doesn’t contribute to the thinking process prior to that juncture! I sometimes wish I had a creatameter to prove my point!
To the unfamiliar observer, the Christian’s path probably seems an easy travel. The truth is that Christians do have an extra power carrying their burden for them if they will only prevent spider’s webs and underbrush to develop and choke out accessibility. They must prayerfully keep their path manicured. And if their cart goes flat and starts rolling bumpy, they can get pumped back up simply by folding their hands, bending their knees and placing a call.
Christians are basically a good people. It’s not impossible however to find a Christian now and then, who temporarily allowed his attitude to originate inside a rotten onion and then pretended to be a sweet juicy fruit to your face! I’m sorry about that. Some of us Christians in that arena need to gather together with them, offering support in fellowship!
Oh, you can find good non Christians too but, if the fruits of the Holy Spirit don’t reside in their hearts, they have nothing at the end of their path to harvest. Christians lease their path from the fields of the Holy Spirit. If you read the fine print in the lease agreement, you will find at least ten do’s and don’ts listed as a commitment to keep the path properly cultivated to both partner’s satisfaction, this guarantees a successful harvest. At the end of their path, Christian’s helping hands will be busy in the harvest fields, reaping bountiful rewards even beyond expectations! The dust on their sandals will return back to earth while clasping the hand of their maker and walking together in concert, straight into eternity!

 Father Time‘s Birthday?

It must have been yesterday! Can you tell are the candles still hot? I haven’t seen a birth certificate but counting all the candles, including the ones that escaped out back, it appears like the year of his birth was in the eighteen hundreds. If that be the raw truth, he’d already enjoy existing 200 something years on earth. A piece of cake, WOW, what a piece of cake! Do you think the end of his existence is nonexistent or might he one day be replaced with Spurtstream.com or Quickaway.net? Oh, I haven’t heard of them either but who really knows, they might be lying in wait ready to spring forth and gobble all the time.

 The Power Stick!

I was toying with the idea of cutting and burning more pine trunks, there were six left.. The branches were almost all broken off so I basically had straight logs thirty to forty feet long and from 6 to 10 inches in diameter to deal with. Our trusty four wheel drive pickup had pulled them together as much as possible on top of where the burn pile usually is located. Well, when I put two and five together I stumbled onto the idea of using power sticks to cut these long logs into manageable chunks.
The power sticks were energized by raw, nature supplied oxygen which was delivered with the wind. I had no hungry chainsaw to guard my extremities from because these amazing power sticks really worked. You’ve all probably used power sticks before, but for me it was an intentional mind set. I would place a collection of power sticks at strategic points along the trunk and watch them go to work. When the trunk was severed I moved that chunk of tree trunk to cuddle with the family of logs already burning with all their might.
What are power sticks? They are nothing more than short lengths of common tree branches (Kindling). These branches are carefully placed on both sides of the tree trunk at the location chosen for desired log length. You end up with a series of small bon fires along the tree trunk burning their way right through the trunk. Yes, you have to keep adding more power sticks to each location to complete the separation but, by the end of the day I had successfully reduced all six dead pine trees to ashes.
If I were to critique the process I’d have to say that watching power sticks at work is much more entertaining than watching a noisy chainsaw!

 Country Delight!

The wake of an evening’s glow
Gracefully framed this show.
While young sprouts of wheat
Cushioned their feet,
The family followed the doe.

While their golden velvety hide
Flowed with ripples from muscle inside
I stood there in awe
Straining to see what I saw
There was obviously pride in their stride

The admission was totally free
To admire this deer family
White stripes catching my eye
On tails reaching for sky
Floating straight into memory!

 Following Old Time Grandma!

From Grandma clear to Grandma’s Grandma we experienced a show of thoughtful practicality, the signature of a noble seamstress! One would find an extra button or two sewn onto the bottom of their handmade new shirts. Let’s think about the “smart” content of this simple user benefit a minute. Aren’t we all in agreement the odds are pretty high that wearing a shirt over and over with fifteen buttons on it will sooner or later create the demand to replace one of those buttons? Smart move Old Time Grandma, your popularity as a noble seamstress just took center stage because you‘ve got us all thinking in concert about the convenience of those cherished extra buttons!
So, what does the Modern Day Grandma do? She tries to follow Old Time Grandma’s lead because she envies her popularity. Modern Day Grandma’s finished product, the last shirt I put on, had fourteen snaps and one useable button. Yes, it had the cherished extra button sewn on the bottom of it for replacement convenience, the signature of a noble seamstress!
C’mon Modern Day Grandma, you’re following with your eyes closed, I think you’ve snapped out of the range of popularity in providing the extra button.
