Private Time Reflections

 Anyone of Us Could!

Anyone of us could be a friend, a friend who really cares,
One who’s great personality so graciously shares.
We’d unselfishly, continuously scatter these seeds,
Wrapped in kind words and in bountiful deeds.

We could unroll our talents with a thin thread of pride,
Aware of the knowledge we’ve stored up inside.
Family and friends would be our treasured possession,
Family and friends would learn many a lesson.

When we’d host groups with the tastiest meal,
Our expression of love would be is so easy to feel.
We could enter some hearts that are lonely and sad
Reuniting body with soul, making them glad.

We could keep spreading our love and it’s a sure bet
Some folk would feel obligated to pay off their debt.
So, I’ll spill the big secret right out of the sack.
We can’t give that much love without getting some back!

 Folding Memories

We are in process of turning in an application for residency at a retirement center. We built our country home on twenty acres (and lovingly called it the Oasis) about 40 years ago. Now it's time to fold a heap of accumulated memories into a much smaller suitcase to unpack into a new enviornment. As I sat yesterday, watching some dead tree trunks burn, the image of some old memories made their way into the swirls of smoke lazily ascending and dissapearing into thin air. I realized then that I would never be able to discard those memories, they would have to be folded into smaller segments to be unpacked between new walls to blend into the remaning retirement life's experiences with us.

Who, What, Where, When & Why

I was rummaging through some old treasures and uncovered papers with some smiles still active, saved from a family get together. When we were all together we gave each person a blank sheet of paper and had them write the name or discription of a "Who". Then they were to fold that part of their paper hiding the "Who" they had written and pass it to the next person. That person would write a "What" on it directly beneath the fold, then fold again hiding the "What" and pass the sheet. The next person writes "Where it took place, folds and passes to the next person who writes When this happened and the last writer for that round explans Why. Pass that paper one more time and take turns reading them out loud. If the participants get a bit creative with their answers it gets hilarious. Try it for proof.

 A Chunk?

How many tablespoons are there in a chunk? There's only one tablespooon in a ker-chunk if you drop that one spoon and it hits the floor. I'd hope there are between twelve and thirty four tablespoons in a chunk of cheese, (Except maybe in Swiss, Swiss must have been made when it was extremely windy, with all the blow holes in it.) Nine to nineteen tablespoons in a chunk of meat, beef that is, pork you see is raised closer to gravity pull, closer to the ground, therefore, it doesn't take as much pork to make a chunk! This competitive spirit I believe, is what initiated the cow to grind her beef thinking GROUND beef would have more gravity pull and could be served up in smaller chunks. But I'm afraid that to measure the chunk of change required to keep a ready supply of this meat will use up all your spoons.

Two Little Mouses All In A Row!

Why hasn't someone teamed up two little computer mouses all in a row, all on a single harness? Surely there are many a family that has both left handed and right handed people using the same computer. As it is, one could wear a single mouse out rather quickly by jumping him from side to side clear across the monitor each time, or not?
