I believe I've finally figured out why it's nigh impossible to trigger a sense of humor.
It's because humor is mostly triggered with non-sense!

After we were seated I noticed a definate rocking sensation under my posterior so, I did a quick test wiggle for confirmation. Sure enough the rocking chair message traveled up one leg and then the other depending which one of the two short legs thumped the floor side of the rocker first. Instead of making a production out of it by calling the waitress, I simply lifted the bulky chair and carried it around to the other side of the table. When I put it down I checked it's replacement and it didn't rock. I noticed a few smiles so I knew I had attracted an audience but. I managed to get the good chair (with all four legs the same length) to the other side of the table without knocking anyone else out of their chair. I plopped the chair in place, flopped myself into it and guess what, this good chair was rocking precisely like the one I had just hauled around the table! I settled for the bonus of having a rocky experience with my meal.

I’d been knocked a step back by this thin plastic sack
You tear it off by hand for the fruit in the stand
Their within an easy reach just beyond that juicy peach
Why low and behold as I reached for the roll
I got pulled into a race happening right in my face
She made it look easy which I thought a bit sleezy
Her rip off seemed grand as I pulled back my hand
Then to my greatest surprise she looked square into my eyes
And without a sarcastic brag she gave me her plastic bag
A powerful lesson was afloat while I stood there like a goat
As I acknowledged her smile I knew all the while

Haven't we all seeen it?
