Where Did The Soft Pitch Go?

One thing that undeniably rubs my pores shut is the sales manager’s reaction when one of my memberships or magazine subscriptions is about to expire and I don’t renew with my next breath. The longer I postpone my right to choose when or if I want to renew, the more pushy their sales techniques become. They make it sound like I’ve turned criminal by ignoring the fact that they’ve extended services and/or sent me extra copies after the expiration date and now I owe them and MUST PAY TODAY to settle my account!
How soon they forget that the original decision to subscribe was exclusively mine with a response to their gentle invitation. Since then it seems, their saddle has slipped clear underneath the horse and they are desperately trying to hang onto this upside down approach to salvage the chance for successful sale-ing.
“Dear Sir/Mam, simply admit that you have a heap of competition out there and you’ve appreciated my business in the past. Gently invite me to continue enjoying your product by renewing at my convenience. This soft pitch has a much greater chance of resulting in a hard hit than trying to get me to swing at the old fastball!”
Meanwhile I’ll keep coaxing my treadmill powered scooter uphill!

 What Is That Drive Called?

If someone would have told me that I had to do it, I would have probably complained quiet loudly.
Today I found it a pleasure to be out in that hot Kansas sun until sweat was covering my entire body and proceeded to roll off, making little dark spots on the ground. Anyhow, I kept convincing myself that I was enjoying what I was doing, even though my mussels in my back were pleading with me to consider taking a break. Instead, I kept pushing myself because it was working!. What a thrill! My metal detector successfully signaled a hidden penny, a buried dime and a shiny quarter. I harvested a grand total of 36 cents in only about two hours and could hardly wait to get home so I could share the news with my wife.
Please help me out here. When this invisible inner drive elevates such a quirky level of activity up to a highly satisfactory entertainment stature, can you tell me what that drive is called?

 Power Thinking?

At what level of worth should we plot power thinking on a thinkugraph chart ?
Let’s see there’d be “No comment” thinking at the very bottom.
Next elevation would signify an untrue, fabricated, “The guy with all the answers” kind of a response.
Then, “I don’t know, I haven’t given it much thought” would probably be the next level.
After which I can imagine an aggressive incline to mark “This is experience talking”
“You caught me off guard” needs power thinking to be it’s house guest. So the elevation might show a slight decline at this juncture on the thinkugraph chart.
I believe the thinking value would crest out of it’s banks at the studied and well read level.
Well, I used power thinking for this blog. I sat down without a thing to say and I said it! So, do you think we’d have to do some serious digging to find at what level my power thinking’s worth would fall?

What Shape Is A Little While?

“They should be arriving in a little while”
“The cake should be done in a little while”
“Those eggs should hatch in a little while”
“The sun will go over the horizon in a little while”
“We’ll be able to see a full moon in a little while”
“It looks like it could rain in a little while”
“We should be able to see the new baby in a little while”
“Dinner will be served in a little while”
“The cows will come home in a little while”
Meanwhile I’ll keep coaxing my treadmill powered scooter uphill!
