 Doing Awkward Gracefully?

Are you one of those folk who will tell others that nothing is impossible? Well ok, when you’ve successfully trained a horse to gallop backwards gracefully, please contact me.
Then there’s me. I’m doing routine grocery shopping so I reach for the sour cream from the stores large cooler. Only after I sourly creamed my hand, do I realize that the sour cream container that I lunged after, is behind a glass door. It would have served “Doing Awkward Gracefully” well, had I been alert to the glass door closed in front of me, before I creamed my hand against the enclosure. I didn’t look around, but I keenly sensed some of my closer neighbors mistakenly reading that maneuver as being an amusing incident. As I was retrieving my hand, I felt about as graceful as a horse trying to gallop backwards at break-neck speeds, to the “No thanks, just looking” shopping stage. Lucky for me, my ever polished, “Pretending that everything is normal,” attribute suddenly appeared beside me and I was able to gallop forward through the rest of my shopping rather gracefully. Have any of you been caught recently, rapidly back stepping gracefully as a horse, to the “No thanks, just looking” stage?

 'Inquiring Minds Await'

AZRON’s challenge from Wed. blog)
Grandpa John, maybe you can tell us if moving from Okie land to Dorothy's house requires some kind of internal transformation of the planetary space of the fauna now residing in your yard - I am sure you can find some appropriate topic to blog on and tease our inquisitive minds -
AZRON, here it tis.
First of all, we had seven inches of snow yesterday so, no planting today!
I haven’t tried the following but I think it might work.
Q - Some kind of internal transformation of the planetary space of the fauna now residing in your yard?
A - Splatter planetary space with ShooFlyPie air bomb. Mix said space ambitiously or until all mildew transforms into willdo and all fauna appears lifeless or at least listless.
The real secret of success lies behind starting early conversation with the new Azaleas. ’Splain the obvious advantages of the rich black Kansas soil, (Dorothy’s dirt beside the yellow brick road) over that anemic red growing Okie medium.
It’s of utmost importance to voice over any Okie accent while in conversation with the Azalea plants, using only the Kansas polished verbiage.
And most important of all, is not to let the plants control the conversation or you’ll feel like the man that admitted, “My wife and I had a few words yesterday, but I didn’t get to use mine!”

 Twisting Fairy’s Tales

Jack In The Beanstalk branches into Aunt Jemima’s Pancakes.
Little Red Riding Hood’s Grandma comes to visit the wolf, Once In A Blue Moon.
Little Jack Horner couldn’t eat a thing, after he found out that The Dish Ran Away With The Spoon. Ya?
Hey Diddle Diddle, The Cat Fiddled a round with Three Blind Mice. Hickory, the dingaling clock, struck at one.
Little Boy Blue told all the chickens, the leg horns, and all the cows, the short horns, to go blow their own, at Old McDonald’s Farm In The Dell. He didn’t see the Unicorn.
Jack Be Nibble, Jack Be Lick, Jack Jumped Over The Moon. I hadn’t realized that poppa cows could jump that high somehow, I guess.
Humpty Dumpty Sat On A Wall because he couldn’t remember his own name, that egghead. It looks like he ended up with egg on his face while eating crow!
Wouldn’t “Twisting Fairy’s Tales” make an interesting contest? Every contestant would grab a fairy tale and twist it until it fit the entry form (300 words or not.) All we’d need now, is a sponsor with a bag jolly well full of surprize prizes. Any volunteers?

 Can An Odyssey Really Smile?

We’re back home from a fun and interesting trip! We spent a delightful weekend, bathed in grandchildren’s sparkling little giggles, with our son and family in Collinsville OK. The cantata in their church was great and everyone did their parts well. I may be a wee bit prejudice, but I noticed that Amy wasn’t one bit shy on stage and that Nicole deserves a "highly superior" for her little monolog!
On Monday we drove to Muskogee to see the Azaleas and Dogwoods. The timing seemed perfect, they were in full bloom. Honor Heights Park was simply breathtaking with all the different colors displayed in harmony. The landscape company, in charge of the Azaleas in the park, also had set up a little “for sale” display and was selling plants right there, within our reach. Soon the inside of our van resembled a nursery delivery vehicle. We’re anxious to see what Kansas will do with Oklahoma Azaleas!
After two trips through the 44 acres of Azalea land, we headed North to Grand Lake. We felt lost until we decided that we had just enough room in the van to add a map of the area, if we kept it mostly folded. A quick peek at the lake is when we realized that to do justice to all the possibilities in the area would require a future visit. We didn't want to spend that much time there his trip. When we got home and I had unloaded all our travel accumulation, I thought I felt the Odyssey smile!

 A Funnel’s Finesse

Have you ever stood in awe, mesmerized by all the moving parts in a funnel? A funnel simply gathers overaggressive beginnings and promptly spirals them into a priority controlled flow.
Take a moment to think about that, are we open to doing the very same? Some of us change lanes repeatedly, while hurriedly driving through beginnings. We’re guilty of not stopping for the obvious red lights at the crossroads because, we don’t like beginnings and are anxious to move on.
True or false -
“I believe my life might change, if I started stopping longer for the red lights in my beginnings and allow the road ahead to spiral into a priority controlled flow.”

(Sorry, there will be no blog posts Monday or Tuesday.)
