Private Time Reflections

 Body Language

I noticed in a few TV commercials, the person making the presentation breaks eye contact with the listening audience. They glance to the side, then make the eye contact again before completing the commercial. In your opinion, does this strengthen, weaken or does it not effect the presentation?
How do you feel about this kind of a maneuver during a personal, face to face conversation? It seems to me that a sideways glance, falls in the same category as a sudden whisper does during a conversation.

 Overheard

Yes! Overheard, coming out of my own mouth,
“We’ve been there more often than at any other time!”
Has your mind ever taken a fork in the road at the half mile line?

 Try it --- It works

I received this email yesterday but havn't tried it yet.
Locked your keys in your car? Did you know this?
If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are at home, call home on a cell phone.
Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the other person press the unlock button of your key fob (clicker), holding it near the phone on their end. Your car doors will unlock. Saves someone from having to drive your keys to you.
Distance is no object you could be hundreds of miles away, and if you can reach someone who has the other "remote" for your car, you can unlock the
doors (or the trunk!).

 Just Give Me A Dozen

A signal to waive back
The ding of the bell, when the cash register closes
Sparkling eyes mirrored in mine
The dance of many waters
The deep, unblemished bass of the bullfrog
A gallon of fireplace crackles
The accuracy of a funnel
The determination of the rain gage
The warmth of a setting hen
The flexibility of pushing a chain
The self control of a closed loop
My turn

 Approaching An Elevator

9 easy steps for riding an elevator safely.
1 - Wait patiently until the elevator stops and the door opens
2 - Step inside and announce, “Eighty Two please” then turn around and look up.
3 - If anyone else is going up, you’ll hear, “It quits at twelve, thirteen freaks everybody out”
4 - “Then take me to Six” Now, you’ve found out a bit about how stable the structure is you’re in.
5 - “Can’t take you to Six, I’m getting off at Four”
6 - “It’s only Three Thirty now, surely we can make it to Six in ½ hr.”
7 - “Just a minute, on second thought, I think I can send you to Eighty Two”
8 - Continue looking up, front facing the door, so as the stories unfold, they won’t be above your head.
9 - If the elevator empties at Four and bells start ringing during takeoff, press “emergency stop” before Twelve and get off.
