Private Time Reflections

 The Power Of Respect

Two signs are temporarily hung on two doors inside the same shop, “Wet Paint” and “Out of Order.” Shopper’s that are within reach of the “Wet Paint.” invariably make their next move by touching the door to verify validity.
There they stand, in front of the door, with paint on their fingers.
Oh well, they can clean the paint off when they find the restroom.
You see, that’s the door they were actually looking for to begin with.
“Out Of Order,”
In due respect, they don’t dare make their next move to challenge validity, credibility or any other message true or false.
There they stand, in front of the door, with paint on their fingers.
Soon, the reality of this impossible hurdle starts stirring within.
There they stand, in front of the door, with paint on their fingers.

 Actually?

Doesn’t the question, “Actually?” challenge a person’s integrity? Why, do you suppose, actual and/or actually were deemed necessary for use with the English language? It seems to me that simple truth can proudly walk alone, without “actual” producing a limp. Any thoughts on this one?
“These are gold nuggets!” This statement feels right and can walk alone without question!
“These are actual gold nuggets!” Does “actual” add value to the statement?
“These are actually gold nuggets!” This statement feels like it could start swinging toward, “These are actually gold nuggets, or maybe not!”

 A Full Degree?

My mind’s run out of ink,
And my think tank can not think,
Yet, I’m content to take the time,
To try to make a few words rhyme.
It becomes pretty plain to see,
Something’s slipped a full degree!
You say, “Go back to bed,
Don’t even try to use you’re head.”
But, I need to help you understand,
That on the other hand,
I’d like to climb on top of the hump,
And rise right out of this lazy slump.
I think what I’m going to try and do,
Is just keep talking directly to you.
Though it might seem sort of strange,
Now, the subject’s gonna change.
I’ve always been in a quandary,
Over what pockets do in the laundry?
You answer me that, please do,
And I’ll tip my hat to you!

 A Bit Disturbing!

It's just a bit disturbing how quickly one's mind accepts a new concept. It still feels right to refer to a red dress as a red dress, but a black dress has become "the little black dress" no matter what size it is. Isn't that just a bit disturbing?

 Good Enough?

It seems like we touched on this subject not long ago but I thought it worth sharing anyhow. I'm reading "Signs and Wonders" by Philip Gulley and ran across this quote, "To dream of the person you wish to become is to waste the person you are." Do we all agree?
