Private Time Reflections
Tuesday January 2, 2007
Rumor has it that many people attending a New Year’s Eve party, stayed awake right into the wee hours of the morning, peeling the night away. Again, my curiosity is stirred. Where, during the night, does the first wee hour begin? How much smaller is the wee hour than the regular hours? If people can walk into a wee hour, it must be at least as tall as I am and stretch in length for at least a minimum of a bunch of minutes! If the wee hour doesn’t stretch to a full sixty minutes, I sincerely hope everyone was careful to put all the wee hours back where they were, so we didn’t end up with more than twenty four hours total, in the last day of the old year! I’m afraid the ceiling lights would get confused and wouldn’t be able to reach the floor, if there were too many hours stacked into one day.

Tis the season for family gatherings, a time for unwrapping self control. Sometimes taking the soft step is to agree to disagree and allow everyone to retain their composer, in spite of their opinion. The other option of course, is to stiff leg anything you don’t agree with by kicking that idea clear into outer space! The soft step will enhance relationships while the stiff leg works at tearing them apart. You can even feel the wallpaper start to wrinkle when thinking that stiff leg might work his presence into this year’s Christmas dinner. HAPPY Holidays!

I was admiring a Grandfather Clock when I noticed a builder’s label. “A perfect heirloom, skillfully crafted to last from generation to generation!” “2 year warranty.” Excuse me, how many years from one generation to the next again please?

I’ve just been invited (along with hundreds of other writers) to write a contest article surrounding the theme “Between Fences.” what a great arena of “greener grass” to harvest unique thoughts from? After the winners are announced, if I’m still in blogstream and if I get an article written, I’ll share it with you. Winning entries will be read to the public February 8th.

During my working years I worked with an individual who during the Christmas season, went to his bank, withdrew $500.00 in twenty dollar bills down to one dollar bills. Then he had a friend put on a Santa Clause suit and they drove to town. They picked people at random and gave them a one dollar bill or a five dollar bill or a ten dollar bill or a twenty dollar bill, wishing them a Merry Christmas! How would you react to such kindness? Or maybe we should be at the giving end of this surprise?
