 Virtually?

Virtually is virtually a smooth skinned, gentle to the touch, sort of a sweet smelling word that sparkles when exhibited! But, I can find virtually no application where this cute little word adds any value to our argument. It seems we are virtually missing the band of greater balance by leaning on it’s worth, assuming we’ve done some major message upgrading when we plop it into existence. Example of a freely used phrase to advertise blood glucose meters: “It is virtually pain free, virtually pain free!”
“Virtually pain free“, really means it still hurts, doesn‘t it?
If anyone knows of an application where “virtually” glows because it adds value, please share it.

 Traveling Light.

Why is it, you think, nobody has manufactured a vehicle that goes faster than the speed of light? Think about that with me for a minute. Could it be -
1- because it would have to park after dark because today’s headlight beams aren’t quick enough ?
2 - because nobody can figure out how far forwards to mount the tail lights? Or how to mount a useable reading light?
3 - Or because cell phones might not work at that speed?

 It Pays Off!

This is a continuation of “Grab The Rattler Instead!” post I did very recently. Yes, the discount store was WalMart and they did respond to my contact. After I explained that I was charged full price at check out, instead of the item marked price, and on which items, the kind gentleman had his finger right on the problem. His explanation was that after the sale price expired, their cash registers were updated but the special price signage wasn’t removed from the items. He was anxious to make amends and promised me a gift coupon next time I come to their store. So, see everybody, it pays to grab the snake by its rattlers. This kind gentleman didn’t mention anything about the snake or the rattlers I grabbed, but it feels to me like I’m trading those for the gift coupon, snake and all! Yea for WalMart!

 Found A Penny!

This is my lucky day, or should I not pick the lonely penny up? After all, it doesn’t belong to me, or does it? It no longer has a home in a pocket or some lady’s purse so, who’s penny is it anyhow? If I do pick it up, will I be taking what isn’t mine, or will it become mine just because I found it? What if I don’t keep it separate and it gets mixed up with other pennies in my pocket, does it change ownership then, or will it never be mine because I didn‘t earn it? Do you have any advice on the subject?
What if it’s a lonely one dollar bill, or a twenty, or a wad of bills rolled into a rubber band, does the lost change ownership to finders keepers as simply as the lonely penny would? Did your advice change?

 Grab The Rattler Instead!

What’s the measure of being clever?
I got a bit angry and yes, I talked to others about my vexation, but kept my frustration a secret from the instigator. This didn’t give me any satisfaction however, the thought of this incident still tied knots into my processing system. This nuisance squeezed my flow of reasoning, limited my think volume and threw my thoughts into a tizzy around those silly knots.
Then, it happened again!
Well, by now, I considered yet a deeper emotion Then I realized that nothing will change until I personally grab this snake by its rattlers and strip the coil right out of it’s launch.
Here it is! This time I would put some things I needed into my shopping cart because they were marked at a special price. As you know, they check you out while your unloading your cart. When I got home from this major discount merchant, I noticed that I paid full price at checkout. Twice in a row, that I‘m aware of, this happened to me.
We live out a ways from town so it‘s not like just going back and talking to them right after it happned. By the time we go there again, the prices have changed and I can’t prove a thing. I emailed them a notification of their problem and mentioned that I didn’t think they liked that image any more than I did. They should correct their procedures. Haven’t heard back from them yet.
