Private Time Reflections

 The Quilter’s Thread
Back to Full Blog

If I could only be the thread selected
Expelling all doubt, be the chosen one
To hold all intricate pieces together
Forever beyond all setting suns

I come from a long and colorful collection
When spooling around my family connection
The quilter could use my handsome reflection
Stitching breath taking beauty in every direction

I’d follow the footprints of quilter’s needle
He’d lead me to and fro
And through his nimble flexibility
He’d show me where to sew
And finally
My tiny steps nearly bumping perfection
As through each piece I’d rise and fall
I’d be the major show in the masterpiece
a quilter so proudly hangs up on the wall!

I think of us all as part of a large and colorful patchwork quilt.

GRandpa John - Is not God the quilter guiding the needle with us as the threads as He creates masterpiece after masterpiece here on the earth just as He chooses to decorate the earth? June

Me too n. but, sometimes it seems like all our seams don't run perfectly straight.

Yes, I agree June, but I'm not too sure I'm the perfect thread. I feel that sometimes life's corners pull my knot through the fabric and I end up with another loose end.

GRandpa John - the beauty of god is that He uses imperfect threads and that is when He ,akes His most beautiful pictures; an imperfect thread is much more pliable in the Master's hands. june

Thanks June, so you think that while God is working with me, some results could be worth framing?

Maybe you should write about what the flower in the quilt said - as it was admired by onlookers.

Grandpa JOhn: it never hurts to frame an ongoing project as it is being made/created - then one can put the pieces together and see how one has grown and changed! June
