This proven truth has been trampled into the pages of history since age itself has started turning gray and is readily available to today’s public. However, this particular mechanical truth could have been scattered in regions from directly underfoot, clear to that unknown turbulence where the winds celebrate their big, final blow out. And yet, there would have been a swell of deep rutted curiosity saddled to the truth of this truth.
Among us guys, we simply had to prove the validity of this truth for ourselves!
We could have spent $150.00 for a kit and waited days for it to arrive but, we needed it NOW! You see, we were part of a gathered family that afternoon and the sun was moving toward the Western horizon. So we went into this wood piddler’s workshop at the edge of the yard and inside an hour and a half we had a working model of that mechanical fascination.
Much to our delight, our homemade Trebuchet launched a golf ball to within inches of the target repeatedly, that is if the target had been placed correctly.

Reminds me of the story of the city slicker who was driving through the countryside and came upon a large barn with a large target painted on its side. Upon closer inspection he noted that all the shots were in the bullseye. He commented to the farmer that he was a very good shot. The Farmer replied, Aw, shucks, it was nuttin'. I just shot at the barn, then painted the target!"
